How it Works!
Our projects are easy to follow and incorporate an interesting variety of tools, methods and materials. During the class, we promote an upbeat, judgement-free, and social environment. Classes can be scheduled as a single class, a 6, 8 or 12 month series with or without an Art Show.
SCHEDULE
We learn from you about the ability levels and any preferences you might have. You select one date or set up a series.
MOBILE ART STUDIO
We arrive early to set up in your community room. We place a complete “art station”, with tools and supplies, for each participant.
CREATE TOGETHER
We facilitate a step-by-step project, guiding each person according to their comfort and creative levels. Our projects range from art journaling, mixed media painting to sculpture, and
much more.
PACK UP
We pack everything and clean up completely. We encourage the residents to keep their artwork or we keep it for future showcasing opportunities, if
they choose.
SHOWCASE
We work with you
to provide opportunities for residents to showcase their work in the community. We can also provide a turnkey annual art show to honor the resident artists.

About Kathi and the Studio
I’ve been hooked on visual design since I was about five. I’d spend hours creating pictures using doodle patterns, textures, and handwriting from family letters. That early curiosity stuck with me, and I’ve been exploring new creative techniques and materials ever since.
After earning a degree in graphic design and traveling the world, I began my career in design and marketing. My journey eventually brought me to senior services, where I discovered SoulCollage® and Opening Minds through Art—two transformative creative processes. These experiences inspired me to design and facilitate art classes specifically for seniors.
My workshops are more than instructional sessions; they are spaces where participants feel safe, purposeful, successful, and connected. Communities have shared that, between sessions, my students are happier, more animated, and more social as they look forward to their creative projects. Their enthusiasm and growth continue to inspire me every day.
